Regular meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month after a joint lunch with the American Legion.

The American Legion Auxiliary has been around for over seventy-five years.  We have devoted millions of hours of volunteer time to give assistance to veterans at home, in hospitals, and in the field. We have donated millions of dollars to worthy causes around the world and in our own communities.  We have done thousands of special projects which have assisted families and children across the nation.

We work to prevent substance abuse, teen suicide, child abuse and teen pregnancy.  We educate our children for leadership through Girls Nation, the Spirit of Youth Foundation and Volun Teens and scores of local and national scholarship programs.  We organize community blood drives, local and national conservation efforts, emergency and disaster relief worldwide, citizenship and education programs, child safety materials and legislative action.  We help our own members through the Auxiliary Emergency Fund, Displaced Homemakers Funds and our service people and their families through the Family Assistance Network.

We devote many of our hours to the Veterans, all types:  hospitalized, Veterans homes, homeless Veterans and women Veterans.  As well we sponsor the Girls State Program for high school juniors each year, this gives the girls an opportunity to learn how the government operates.
The Poppy Program is the oldest and most widely recognized Auxiliary program. Each year around Memorial Day, Auxiliary volunteers distribute millions of bright red crepe paper poppies in exchange for contributions to assist disabled and hospitalized veterans. The program provides multiple benefits to the veterans and to the community. The hospitalized veterans who make the flowers are able to earn a small wage which helps to supplement their incomes and makes them feel more self-sufficient. The physical and mental activity provides many therapeutic benefits as well. Donations are used exclusively to assist and support veterans and their families. The poppy also reminds the community of the past sacrifices and continuing needs of our veterans. Auxiliary members endeavor to explain the true meaning of this little flower to all those who receive it. The poppy has become a nationally known and recognized symbol of sacrifice and is worn and used by Auxiliary members to honor the men and women who served and died for their country in all wars.
